Saturday 15th January 2022: Get your Speaking Business off to a Strong Start

As we start 2022, our goal for PSA Ireland is to Start Strong.

This year, we’re going to build on, grow and support our community, the fastest growing region of the PSA!

We’re also going to continue to help speakers, trainers, consultants to become better speakers and grow their speaking business.

So I am terribly excited to bring you two super speakers:

If we want to reach a larger audience with our message, then we need to rely on video way more than we ever did. Johnny Beirne will speak to us about Standing out on Screen, how we can build the trust factor in our videos, which will catapult our reach, likeability and professionalism.

To grow our business, the simple fact is that we need to make more sales. Stuart Harris will share tips on making The Ultimate Sales Call. Lets face it, nobody (well most of us) likes making calls so Stuart will help us avoid messy mistakes and give us techniques so we can’t wait for Monday to arrive to make our sales calls.

We’ve also got a showcase from one of our members, Aoife Gaffney.

We continue to be in the Zoom room so no travel involved this month.

This year, we’re looking to build on our community, to come together to support one another and to learn from each other as we embark on an exciting year ahead. There is so much knowledge and experience among the members of our region so I’m looking forward to harnessing all of it!

Our first Keynote of the day is by Johnny Beirne, who will help us to Stand Out on Screen.

No matter what we’re selling – speaking gigs, training, consulting – we need to use videos in our marketing.

It’s well known that people have to go through the know-like-trust process before they will buy.

Trust is a key part of this and nothing builds trust quicker then authentic videos.

In this master class, you will learn how to set up professional videos, when used properly, will generate more online sales, enquiries and impress more people.

Johnny will speak to us about:
1. Simple Studio Set Up for Professional and Engaging Videos
2. An equipment list that will suit every budget
3. Tips and Techniques that will make viewers want to buy.

Our member showcase this month is by Aoife Gaffney.

The member showcase section is where a member can practice a new talk or try out a new version of a talk in front of their peers.

In a talk entitled ‘Trust’, Aoife will speak about learning to listen to your instincts and trust your own intuition for success and well-being.

Our final keynote of the day sees our Celtic Cousin Stuart Harris, aka The Tartan Trainer join us from Scotland to talk to us about The Ultimate Sales Call.

Cancellation Policy: Please be aware that we do not accept cancellation of bookings for PSA meetings, as we make arrangements to support the number of places booked and incur costs that cannot often be recovered. If you have booked a place at a PSA event and are no longer able to attend, please ask around your local PSA community to see if another speaker wishes to attend in your place – we’re happy for you to transfer your booking, and just ask that you let us know by emailing [email protected].

Processing your personal data: Please note that when you book an event your data will be processed in accordance with the PSA’s Privacy Notice. When you register to attend a PSA event, we share your name and contact details with the person running the event. For regional meetings, this will be the Regional President. They may share these details with members of the Regional Committee, for the purposes of contacting you about the event, welcoming you, and following up with you afterwards..

We will be taking photographs throughout the event and may also be video recording the event. By purchasing a ticket you agree that all photography may be used at the discretion of the PSA and for the business of any speaker being filmed during the event. However, if you do not wish to appear or be identified in any photography or video footage please advise any Committee member on arrival at the event so we can, of course, accommodate your preference.

PSA Events Policy for Covid19

As the host of PSA events, we have taken all reasonable and appropriate precautions and followed the latest government guidelines when planning this event.

As a delegate at a PSA event, you must (1) follow the latest government guidelines; (2) take a lateral flow test before attending unless you have been fully vaccinated (we also recommend this for the safety of other delegates even where you have been fully vaccinated); (3) not attend if the test is positive or if you have any of the recognised symptoms of Covid.

  • PSAUK and Ireland:#PSAIreland is ‘the’ place for professional speakers, coaches, facilitators, trainers, executives and business people who generate revenue from speaking. Our aim is to connect you with ethically-minded, positive, fellow professional speakers and help you to be a Better Speaker and have a Better Speaking Business.Venue: With the Covid restrictions, all events are held via zoom. When restrictions are lifted and mass gatherings are allowed, events will take at The Red Cow Moran Hotel – We meet on the 3rd Saturday morning of each month.

    Events: Our events are broken into three parts: 9:00-10:30am – Members Only – Networking, Masterminding & Masterclasses 10:30-1:00pm – Public Event – guests are welcome to join for professional speaking presentations, workshops, showcases and networking 1:00pm on – social after for those who choose to stay!
